We started the new semester with orientations for new graduate workers and ended with close to 300 new members!

Ice Cream Social

Graduate workers came out to get the scoop on bargaining and enjoy ice cream at our annual ice cream social!

BBQ for Bargaining

We had our very first GEU tailgate to build solidarity, share a meal, and support our push for a fair contract!

Call for Transparency

October 17, 2025

We delivered a petition to UConn admin signed by graduate workers in virtually all departments calling for transparency in bargaining.

Work-In

February 19, 2026

We held a work-in in Wilbur Cross in support of graduate and international worker rights! The morning began with speeches before the bargaining session, while graduate workers sat-in outside of the session in solidarity of securing a contract with fair wages and dignitiy for all GAs!

March for a Fair Contract

March 24, 2026

We marched for fair wages and dignity and delivered a petition to President Maric signed by organizations representing hundreds of thousands of people in Connecticut and beyond.

May Day Rallies

Bargaining Kickoff

September 10, 2025

We kicked things off with a solidarity action before the first bargaining session to show the university that graduate workers are united and ready to win the contract we deserve.

Coffee Hour

October 9, 2025

Had a great time connecting with graduate workers at our coffee hour before our third bargaining session, and asking them what they want to see on our next contract!

Fall Festival

October 23, 2025

We hosted our union’s first Fall Festival, and activities included bargaining bingo, pumpkin painting, lawn games, and arts and crafts. We enjoyed pastries, cider, and plenty of solidarity with our fellow workers!

Contract Tabling

January 20 and 21, 2026

We tabled in the Student Union, giving the latest updates on our contract campaign as we continued the fight for a fair contract.

Ballers for Bargaining

February 28, 2026

We had a great time flyering the crowd at a UConn Men’s basketball game and talking with fans about why protecting public higher education matters. From this action and others, we sent over 1,000 emails to the UConn administration calling on the university to invest in public higher education and democratic values by guaranteeing the economic and social well-being of graduate workers in our next contract.

May Day Ice Cream Social
