Postdoctoral Research Associates who intend to accept any related outside employment shall give notice to the University prior to engaging in any such work. For the purposes of this Article, related outside employment is defined as any activity performed by a Postdoctoral Research Associate, paid or unpaid, that has been secured as a result of their expertise or prominence in the field, or that is related to the specialty or field in which they engage in their Postdoc employment at the University, while not acting in their official capacity as a Postdoc at the University (i.e., in their own time.) Any such related outside employment must be consistent with al University and State codes of ethics and dual employment rules, where applicable. If a request for an opinion on whether such outside employment is a conflict of interest or would otherwise be inconsistent with the ethical codes is made to the Office of State Ethics and an affirmative response is given, the Postdoctoral Research Associate shall refrain from such employment.
